STAGE is an acronym.
It stands for Speaking Truth and Glorifying Emmanuel.
Emmanuel is one of the most intimate names of Jesus Christ. It means “God with Us.” This is exactly who Jesus is: God dwelling with His creation. He came with the purpose of redeeming us and bringing us back to Him.
Isaiah 43:7 tells us that we were “created for God’s glory.” The glory of God is the manifestation of who He is and what He has done, so to bring Him glory is to simply draw attention to these things; to “make a big deal” about Him. It is in doing this that we experience true joy.
While there are endless ways in which people can draw attention to Christ, at STAGE we use the performing arts to fulfill this purpose.
OUR MISSION: To enrich the lives of our performers and audiences by telling redemptive stories that, in word or deed, are honoring to Christ.
The Message Matters.
At STAGE, we believe that what we say matters. Whether that’s the message of the project we’re producing or the way we speak to one another behind the scenes, words have power. They can be used to uplift or tear down.
Our logo is a speech bubble containing two quotation marks. The space in between is blank for a reason. It’s to remind us that we’re responsible for the words that fill the space. We ought to ensure they are full of truth.
With this in mind, we choose to create productions that are redemptive. And as performers, we not only seek to use the technical aspects of speech to communicate clearly, but we challenge our ourselves to analyze what we are saying through our performances and in our everyday lives.
